Code of Conduct: Upholding Values and Expectations

Guidelines for Ethical Behavior

At Al Faris International School, we adhere to a comprehensive Code of Conduct that outlines the principles and standards of behavior expected from all members of our school community. This code reflects our commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. We emphasize integrity, responsibility, empathy, and cooperation, fostering a positive atmosphere that nurtures personal growth and academic excellence. By following this Code of Conduct, we create a harmonious and conducive setting for our students to thrive and develop into responsible global citizens.

Electronic Devices

Our policy regarding electronic devices at Al Faris International School is designed to ensure a focused and productive learning environment. Cyber misconduct refers to inappropriate, harmful, or disruptive behavior that occurs online or through digital communication channels. In our school, we take a strong stance against cyber misconduct to ensure a safe and respectful online environment for all students and staff.

Phone cameras, recording devices,laptops or tablets may not be used to invade or threaten personal privacy or todisrupt the safe and secure culture for learning.
Mobile phones are not allowed to be used in the classroom or at recess time.  If a mobile phone is brought to school, it must be turned off and given to the floor supervisor for safe-keeping until home time.
Tablets brought to school are for educational purposes only and should be free of gaming apps.
Students are not permitted to photograph or video without prior permission.
Learners are expected to follow the set school standards andpolicies in the use of any internal or external internet site.  Cyberbullying,sharing offensive content, harassment, or any other form of harmful digitalbehavior is subject to disciplinary actionincluding possible temporary suspension in their use of essential platforms.

Weapons and Other Prohibited Items

The safety and well-being of our students and staff areparamount.  The following items are prohibitedat school as they could potentially cause harm, disrupt the learningenvironment, or compromise the safety of individuals:

Cigarettes and vapes are strictlyprohibited anywhere on school premises (both inside and outdoors)
Lighters
Skates, skateboards or roller skateshoes
Weapons (real or replica) including pocketknives and other sharp instruments
Spray paint or snow spray
Water guns
Laser pointers
Any toxic or hazardous substance

Transportation

We understand the importance of safe and reliabletransportation for our students. Our school offers transportation services thatprioritize the well-being of our students during their commute to and fromschool. Our fleet of vehicles is maintained to high safety standards and drivenby trained professionals.

Students must behave on the schoolbus. This means staying in their seats, refraining from eating or drinking,talking in a quiet manner, being polite to the driver and bus supervisor andbeing on time when bus arrives for pick at the designated bus stop.
Students cannot take any other schoolbus but their own. Guests are not allowed on the school bus at any time.
Parents dropping off and picking uptheir children should be on time and follow parking lot protocols in order tominimize traffic jams.

General Cleanliness

Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment is a shared responsibility at Al Faris International School. We emphasize the importance of general cleanliness to create a conducive learning and working atmosphere. Students, staff, and visitors are encouraged to keep our premises tidy by disposing of waste properly, using designated recycling bins, and respecting shared spaces.

Learners are responsible to maintain the cleanliness and order of the classroom. Garbage should be disposed of in the trash can, books should be placed neatly on the shelves or in lockers, drawing on the desks is not allowed, desks should be straightened and chairs pushed in before students leave the classroom.
All food must be kept in designated eating areas.
Students are expected to use designated trash cans and recycling bins to dispose of their waste in the cafeteria and playground.
Vandalism, graffiti and thedestruction or careless use of school property is prohibited. Students andtheir parents will be expected to pay restitution for anydamage/breakage/vandalism the student may cause.
Tampering with the fire alarm system or any other safety equipment will not be tolerated and may be cause for suspension.

Hallways and Stairs

Rules for hallways, stairs and playgrounds play a crucialrole in maintaining a safe and efficient school environment.

Students are expected to walk in anorderly manner and keep to the right in the hallways and on the stairs.
Pushing, shoving, running, shouting,swearing or rowdy behavior will not be tolerated in the hallways.
Rowdy behavior, fighting orplay-fighting will not be tolerated in play areas.
Students must play only in designatedareas.
Students are expected to keephallways, stairways and playgrounds clean and free of trash.
Tampering with the fire alarm systemor any other safety equipment will not be tolerated and is cause for seriousdisciplinary action.
If a student needs to leave the classroom for any reason,he or she must obtain a hall pass from the supervisor.  No student is allowed to roam the hallwayswithout a hall pass.
Students are not allowed to stay in the classroom during recesstime.
